A 3-week “vacation” at North Carolina Outward Bound gave me the incentive, motivation and ability to control my breathing and take a stand against the exercise-induced asthma I lived with my whole life. From that point on – I hit the ground running, literally.
Movement has been a part of my life since I turned 18. I am so glad that before, during and after college, I was still deciding what to be when I grew up. As my children were born and I looked to exercise to keep in shape, my passion was fueled and the certifications took over my life. Seeing the way exercise could change people’s lives and help them really solidified my destiny as an instructor.
Since then, my life has made many turns and I have found myself moving from one amazing opportunity to another. The most recent opportunity has been my job at Quinnipiac University, where I serve as Director for Fitness & Well Being (since 2003), which allows me to share my passions with the bright lights of our future. I am constantly learning and growing from this wonderful environment and enjoy the programs and opportunities that college life provides.
In addition to serving my university students, I get to work as a Master Trainer for a variety of fitness programs [SPINNING®, CrossCore®, Ugi®, Barre Above®, Cardio Yoga(TM), In-Trinity® by Johnny G Method] which has been an incredible opportunity for me! This has allowed me to travel the US and beyond, meeting some of the most interesting and inspiring people. I am very grateful for all of these opportunities I am given and look forward to keeping my eyes open to whatever comes my way next!
